Nineteen years ago, an underwater earthquake in the Indian Ocean triggered a tsunami, which became the deadliest in modern history.

The tsunami reached the shores of Indonesia, Sri Lanka, southern India, Thailand, and other countries. The wave height exceeded 15 meters, and the earthquake magnitude ranged from 9.1 to 9.3.
