Prime Minister Srettha Thavisin

Prime Minister Srettha Thavisin expressed his condolences to the families of the victims of the shooting at Siam Paragon Shopping Center.

Srettha assured that the government intends to prevent similar incidents in the future. First and foremost, there are plans to strengthen control over the online sale of firearms. Additionally, in the near future, the implementation of a population alert system for emergencies will be considered.

Yesterday evening, the Prime Minister had a conversation with the Chinese Ambassador in Thailand and apologized for the incident. The Chinese Ambassador reassured him that this incident would not undermine the Chinese government's trust in Thailand, and the authorities would not ask their citizens to refrain from visiting the country.
