The number of Thai citizens held hostage by Hamas militants has risen to 22.

According to the latest information, 32 people have died, and 19 have been injured. Out of 8,550 registered for evacuation, 5,639 Thais have returned to Thailand. The bodies of 14 Thai citizens who died were also repatriated.

Yesterday, during a meeting with journalists, Prime Minister Srettha Thavisin once again called on Thai workers to return to Thailand. The Prime Minister explained that with each passing day, evacuating Thai workers from areas near conflict zones becomes increasingly difficult.

Furthermore, Srettha added that the Thai government has intensified efforts to secure the release of Thai hostages. Soon, a member of the cabinet will depart for the Middle East on a mission to assist in freeing Thai workers taken hostage by Hamas militants.
