Tham Luang historic rescue cave   to open for tours on 15 December

The Tham Luang Cave in Chiang Rai will be open to tourists starting from December 15, 2023.

The Department of National Parks and Wildlife (DNP) has announced that, beginning December 15, group tours of 10 to 12 people, including a guide, will be allowed to visit the third chamber of the famous cave. This chamber served as the base for the rescue of the 13 members of the" Wild Boars" football team in Mae Sai.

Previously, Chamber 3, located approximately 2 kilometers from the cave entrance, was exclusively accessible to researchers and experts.

In 2018, the football team and their coach became trapped in the cave due to rising floodwaters. The 17-day rescue operation was successful with the assistance of over 100 world-class experts, spelunkers, rescuers, and medical professionals from around the globe.
