General Surachate and members of his team are under investigation for suspicion of bribery. According to cybercrime police, the police officers demanded a bribe of 140 million baht from an illegal online gambling network.

As part of the pre-trial investigation, arrest warrants were issued for 30 police officers, and a search warrant was executed at Big Joke's residence. Additionally, 11 officers and civilians have already been detained in connection with the case.

Initially, Lieutenant General Surachate refused the search of his house, citing the need to discuss the matter with Lieutenant General Vorawat Watnakpian, the commissioner of the Cyber Crime Investigation Bureau (CCIB).

Later, he allowed the search, during which nothing illegal was found. Surachate stated that he is not involved in bribery or the gambling business and is willing to cooperate with the investigation. He also emphasized that the search warrant has no connection to rumors about him being a candidate for the position of National Police Chief.
