Su Tong Pae bridge in the Muang Mae Hong

Work has commenced on dismantling the longest bridge, Su Tong Pae, in the Muang Mae Hong Son district.

Local residents have joined forces to take apart the bridge, which was damaged during the flood on September 8, 2023.

The Su Tong Pae Bridge, spanning approximately 500 meters, was constructed using bamboo and old wood and connected a Buddhist center with the Ban Kung Mai Sak community.

Initially, the bridge was built to facilitate alms collection by monks. Later, it became a tourist attraction, offering breathtaking views of rice fields and the Mae Sang Canal.

Dismantling operations are expected to be completed today, on September 19th.
