The incident occurred at 11:40 am at Soi Sukhumvit 64/1. A truck was heading towards Bangkok when the road surface collapsed, causing the rear of the truck to partially sink. The incident significantly disrupted traffic towards the capital.

A similar incident occurred a few days earlier on Ratchaprarop Road when an SUV sank into a hole in the road that had formed after a truck had passed over it.
