Purple line MRT Bangkok

The MRTA Council has approved a decision to limit the fare for the MRT Purple Line to 20 baht starting from December 1, 2023.

This decision was made in line with the new government's policy and aims to reduce the financial burden on the population by capping the fare at 20 baht for the entire route.

The current maximum fare is 42 baht, while the minimum fare will remain the same at 14 baht.

MRTA also calculated that this new limitation will help increase the number of users by 17% from the current approximately 56,000 people per day to 66,000 people per day.

Meanwhile, MRT estimated that this decision will result in an annual revenue loss of approximately 190 million baht.
