Police in Chiang Mai arrested a U.S. citizen for stabbing two Dutch tourists.

27-year-old American Brian Andrew Burggraf was apprehended last night on a street in Tambon Jed Yod. During the arrest, a 15-centimeter knife and cannabis were found in his pants pocket.

Burggraf confessed to attacking Dutch father and son, Erik Jan, 52 years old, and Colin Mike, 20 years old, but did not disclose the motives for the assault.

Witnesses reported that Burggraf initially approached a group of Dutch tourists before initiating the attack.

Jan suffered a 10-centimeter throat cut and two stab wounds to the back, while his son sustained a deep arm wound. Both victims were hospitalized in Chiang Mai.

The American has been charged with causing bodily and grievous bodily harm to others.
