Tourist hit by here and there in Phuket

A tuk-tuk driver in Phuket, who hit a tourist and fled the scene of the accident, turned himself in to the police.

The incident occurred near the Aspery Hotel in the Patong area on the evening of September 13.

In a video of the accident published by one of the Thai media outlets, it is clearly visible how the tuk-tuk strikes a tourist who was walking on the sidewalk and, at the moment of the accident, stepped onto the roadway.
 
The tuk-tuk driver did not reduce speed and fled the scene of the crime. The injured individual, a 38-year-old citizen of Saudi Arabia, suffered a head injury and was taken to the hospital.
 
After some time, the man voluntarily appeared at the police station. He stated that immediately after the accident, he went to the hospital to visit the injured person and then came to the police station to make a statement.
 
According to preliminary information, the driver was not intoxicated.
The police have initiated an investigation into the incident.
