Representatives of taxi drivers working at Phuket Airport filed a complaint about the loss of earnings

Taxi drivers at Phuket Airport have complained about a loss of income.

Taxi drivers who have controlled passenger service at Phuket International Airport for many years have filed an official complaint, reporting a loss of income less than a week after Grab taxi drivers were allowed to pick up passengers at the airport.

During the filing of the official complaint to the President of the Phuket Provincial Administrative Organization (PPAO), the President of Phuket Business Car Service Cooperative Limited claimed to represent the interests of 181 drivers.

He asserts that drivers are suffering from income loss following the introduction of new tourist service regulations at the airport, as they used to make at least three trips a day, while some drivers now do not even complete one trip.

During the launch of Grab taxi service at Phuket Airport a week ago, the President of Airports of Thailand (AOT) confirmed that some other taxi services had applied for permission to serve passengers at the airport. According to him, these applications will be reviewed in the near future.
