Zika virus is an arboviral infection transmitted by mosquitoes of the Aedes genus.

The disease typically presents as mild, with symptoms such as fever, rash, conjunctivitis, myalgia, and other nonspecific symptoms lasting from 2 to 7 days.
 
Island residents, especially pregnant women experiencing similar symptoms, are advised to seek medical attention.

As a preventive measure, it is recommended to avoid areas with stagnant water, use repellents, and wear protective clothing.
