The tourist assistance center shared the story of the "rescue" of a Russian man who spent 14 days at Phuket Airport.

The 38-year-old Russian citizen missed his flight to Russia. He was drunk, had no money for a return ticket, and even for food. He had no luggage, only a phone and a passport.

The Russian man informed airport staff that he was waiting for his mother to buy him a return ticket, and since he had nowhere to go, he would stay at the airport.

He was taken to the hospital for treatment of an eye infection, and a charitable foundation helped cover the medical expenses.

On September 21, the man flew home. According to information from the tourist assistance center staff, this man also missed his flight a year ago and lived at the airport for several days until someone bought him a ticket home.
