Pheu Thai has added 6 more political parties to its coalition, thereby asserting that they have a clear majority in the lower House of Representatives.

Negotiations with the new coalition partners were conducted in parliament to avoid clashes with protesters.

Currently, the coalition of 8 parties holds 228 out of 500 seats in the lower chamber. However, Pheu Thai's leader, Cholnan Srikaew, firmly claims that the alliance will have support from at least 251 seats.

The coalition welcomed Prachachart, Seri Ruam Thai, Pheu Thai Ruam Palang, and Palang Sangkhom Mai, 4 of which were also part of the first coalition formed by Move Forward.

The primary goal of the coalition, led by Pheu Thai, is to urgently help Thailand address its ongoing crises, including constitutional, economic, and political divisions, through the development of a new constitution.

After the press conference, the Pheu Thai party will meet with Move Forward to seek support in the next round of voting for the prime minister.
