Thailand aims to attract 8.5 million Chinese tourists next year.

According to a representative from the Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT), Chinese tourists play a significant role in revitalizing Thailand's tourism sector.

Experts estimate that in 2023, approximately 3.5 million Chinese tourists will visit Thailand, falling short of the target of 4 million.

TAT representatives will propose to the government the extension of the visa-free regime for Chinese tourists, which is currently in effect until February 29, 2024.

Additionally, there will be consideration for extending the visa-free period for tourists from other countries from 30 to 90 days.
